Dress Code for Learners

 

Preamble

Research has concluded that learners are able to perform at their highest level in a safe and secure environment. A strong correlation exists between learner appearance and his/her academic performance. The dress code is established to teach grooming and hygiene, prevent disruption, and minimize safety hazards. Any disruptive or distractive mode of clothing or appearance that adversely impacts the educational process is not permitted.

The school uniform is obtainable strictly and only FROM showroom in Groblersdal (Shop No 4 Riebeeck StreetGroblersdal). We do not accept any imitation of our school’s uniform/ emblem.

Prescribed School Uniform & Policy on School Uniform

All learners are expected to be on their proper uniform from the first day of school re-opening and there should be no deviation from the prescribed using as indicated on the Table below

BOYS GIRLS
MONDAY, TUESDAY & THURSDAY

Gold long sleeves Shirt, Maroon tie with Gold Stripes, Maroon Pull over with School emblem OR Maroon Long sleeves Jersey with School Emblem, Black long trousers, Black Belt, Maroon Socks, Black School Shoes.

(NB : Pull over or Jersey must be worn on top of the Shirt because it (the shirt) does not have the school emblem)

Gold long sleeves Shirt, Maroon tie with Gold Stripes, Maroon Pull over with School emblem OR Maroon Long sleeves Jersey with School Emblem, Black long trousers, Black Belt, Maroon Socks, Black School Shoes.

(NB : Pull over or Jersey must be worn on top of the Shirt because it (the shirt) does not have the school emblem)

OR

Maroon and Gold Tunic with School Emblem,  Maroon Socks with Gold Stripes, Black School Shoes.

(NB : Pull over or Jersey can be worn on top of the  Tunic only on cold days)

 

WEDNESDAY  & FRIDAY
BOYS GIRLS
  • Gold Golf Shirt with School Emblem, Black Long Trousers, Black Belt,  Maroon Socks with Gold Stripes, Black School Shoes.

(NB: Pull Over or Jersey can be worn on top of the Golf Shirt only on Cold days)

 

OR

Gold Golf Shirt with School Emblem, Maroon Tracksuit  with School Emblem (Both the top and the trousers should be worn. NEVER wear the tracksuit top and black trousers), Maroon Socks with Gold Stripes, Black School Shoes.

  • Gold Golf Shirt with School Emblem, Maroon Skirt, Maroon Socks with Gold Stripes, Black School shoes.

(NB: Pull Over or Jersey can be worn on top of the Golf Shirt only on Cold days)

 

OR

Gold Golf Shirt with School Emblem, Maroon Tracksuit  with School Emblem (Both the top and the trousers should be worn. NEVER wear the tracksuit top and black trousers), Maroon Socks with Gold Stripes, Black School Shoes

JEWELLERY

  • Only small earrings are allowed for girls.
  • NO EARRINGS and all other types of Jewellery are allowed for boys.
Only Spectacles and other gadgets prescribed by the doctor for medical purposes can be worn. NO ANY OTHE FORM OF JEWELLERY IS ALLOWED including bangles and ribbons. 

PLEASE NOTE:  The gold bvd/ T-shirt serves as a vest and no any other thing should be worn inside the shirt and golf shirt.  Secondly, Length of  Skirts and Tunics  should be of knee level  when standing. They should not be too short nor too long. 

 

CASUAL DRESSING AND GRADE 7 SPECIAL T-SHIRTS

  • Casual dressing is NOT COMPULSORY
  • Clothes worn for Casual  should be suitable for school  and presentable
  • Very Short Skirts, High heel Shoes, Caps, Hats , clothes showing parts of the body such as thighs and breast and all forms of gowns ARE NOT ALLOWED.
  • No bare shoulders and see-through clothes
  • Rules for Jewellery indicated above apply even on Casual dressing days.


RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR NEATNESS AND UNIFORMITY

1. Make-up, Nails and Hair

  • Make-up is not allowed including lip-stick.
  • Artificial nails are not allowed
  • Nails are not allowed to extend beyond the fingertips.

Hair - Boys

  • All boys hair must be Short, clean and well combed everyday.
  • Hairstyles, lines and patterns on hair are not allowed
  • Hair must not be bleached or colour treated.
  • No hair extensions
  • Dreadlocks are not allowed

 Hair - Girls

  • Hair should be short or plated.
  • No extensions should be used even on plated hair.
  • When plated, the style should suit a primary school learner and allow her to be free.
  • Relaxed hair  is NOT allowed. Primary learners are too little to maintain relaxed hair. They pull each other with the hair, steal ribbons, use unacceptably coloured ribbons to tie the hair and cut other learners hair out of truancy or jealousy
  • Hair must not be bleached or colour treated.
  • No flamboyant or extravagant hairstyles
  • Dreadlock are not allowed

2. General Appearance

  • Shirts and Golf Shirts must never be left hanging outside the trousers or skirts. They must be tucked in.
  • A pull over cannot be worn on top of a long sleeves Jersey
  • Any form of clothing visible under the school uniform except the school vest is NOT ALLOWED
  • The Official School hat with school emblem cannot be worn in at the assembly and in classroom
